Who I Am

I’m Samantha - a gardener and lover of wild things. My passion is connecting people with nature in ways that empower them to become informed, engaged stewards of the land around them - whether they’re homeowners with an acre of yard space or urban dwellers with a nook for a few pots.

My work and perspective draw inspiration from art, architecture, landscape design, social perceptions of landscapes, ecology, entomology, botany, biology, geography, permaculture, and more. I’m especially interested in where these disciplines intersect and how they can inform the creation of healthier, more resilient landscapes that benefit both wildlife and the people who inhabit them.

I am passionate about plant conservation and believe that mitigating habitat loss and maintaining biodiversity requires a cultural shift toward valuing native landscapes that support balanced, functioning ecosystems over manicured, exotic landscapes devoid of ecological function.
